Showcasing original work through various forms of creativity to encourage growth in mental health.
Why Life In Color ?
Life in Color was inspired by combining multiple elements of creativity into journaling. For people who struggle with various mental health issues, finding ways to journal or express themselves allows individuals to process what they are going through.
When it comes to journaling, sometimes it can feel redundant or boring to compile paragraphs of words on multiple pages. That’s where combining multiple elements of photographs from magazines, old pieces of mail, or even ordinary paper objects comes into play. Some like to refer to it as a scrapbook or a Pinterest board, which isn’t entirely wrong, but it’s also way cooler as it’s your own!
According to Intermountain Healthcare, journaling provides the following benefits:
- Reduces Stress
- Improves Immune Function
- Keeps Memory Sharp
- Boosts Mood
- Strengthens Emotional Functions
In such a simple task as journaling, Life In Color provides a platform for others to share their creativity or pages of their journal with the end goal to encourage and help others who are either recovering from mental health issues or who have dealt with them in the past.
